Species

The name caste has in Latin that means: pure or without mixture.

Enologically the grape varieties are the vines that give specific wine type according to a set of organoleptic and morphological characteristics.

Some of these characteristics are transmitted through soil and climate. These types of traits have been called terroir and we can not talk about vine varieties without making their association with the terroir, because according to the place where they are planted, the same variety reacts differently resulting in differences in the final product , the wine. Throughout the world there are between ten and twenty thousand varieties, however, of which only about five hundred were isolated, cultivated and reproduced by man.
